Matagorda County Judge and NPI Director Attend a Meeting of the Infrastructure Development Working Group in Slovenia

    Matagorda County Judge Nate MacDonald and NPI Director Lee Peddicord stand in front of the Krsko Nuclear Power Plant, a two loop Westinghouse reactor in Krsko, Slovenia. They were there as part of the meeting of the Infrastructure Development Working Group (IDWG), a component of the 31 nation International Framework for Nuclear Energy Cooperation (IFNEC), that took place on November 14-15, 2012 in Ljubljana, Slovenia. McDonald participated in a panel with representatives from the Czech Republic and Slovenia on stakeholder engagement on nuclear energy. Peddicord chaired a panel on human resource development and presented on the NPI program on the "Roadmap to Operational Excellence." As part of the trip, on November 12-13, McDonald and Peddicord also participated in the IAEA Nuclear Energy Management School in Trieste, Italy.

    The Nuclear Power Institute in cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA, Vienna, Austria) is organizing the Nuclear Energy Management School to take place from March 18 - April 5, 2013 in College Station, Texas.
